In 1992, Junya Watanabe was appointed chief designer of JUNYA WATANABE COMME des GARCONS and debuted at the Tokyo Collections : the brand name was changed to JUNYA WATANABE from the 2022 spring/summer season.
In 2003, began developing the women's wear line COMME des GARCONS JUNYA WATANABE MAN PINK. (Ended in autumn/winter 2005).

This women’s line, launched in 1993, embodies the timeless basics that Rei Kawakubo has always loved. Among Comme des Garçons enthusiasts, it is commonly referred to as “Comme Comme.”
In 2005, robe de chambre, which had been in production since 1981, was integrated into COMME des GARÇONS COMME des GARÇONS.
The line is known for its subtly twisted takes on classic designs—never overly flashy, yet distinctly Comme des Garçons—making it a popular choice among fans.
